The Great Ocean Road which stretches along the South Eastern coast of Australia between the Victorian cities of Geelong and Warrnambool is one of Australia's great scenic coastline drives.Hugging tightly to the coast, the road offers outstanding views of Bass Strait and the Southern Ocean. The section near Port Campbell covers some of the most scenic coastline in the world, because of dramatic natural rock formations. These formations include Loch Ard Gorge, the Grotto, London Arch, and most famously The Twelve Apostles.

The Melbourne Cricket Ground is a stadium located in Yarra Park and is home to the Melbourne Cricket Club. It holds the world record for the highest light towers at any sporting venue. The MCG is within walking distance of the city centre, and is serviced by Richmond and Jolimont train stations. Internationally, the MCG is remembered as the centrepiece stadium of the 1956 Summer Olympics and the 2006 Commonwealth Games. The open-air stadium is also one of the world's most famous cricket venues, with the well-attended Boxing Day test match commencing on Boxing Day every year.

The first races on Phillip Island took place in 1928 with the running of the 100 Miles Road Race, a event which has since become known as the first Australian Grand Prix. It used, as was traditional at the time, a high speed rectangle of local closed-off public roads with four incidental right hand corners. The course length varied, with the car course approximately 6 miles per lap, to motorcycle racing of approximately 10 miles. In 2006, Phillip Island hosted the grand finale of the V8 Supercars Championship Series, as well as a regular MotoGP and Superbike round.

Wilsons Promontory National Park is a national park in the Gippsland region. It is known for its beautiful rainforests, unspoiled beaches, and abundant wildlife. It covers the southern portion of Wilsons Promontory, a peninsula containing South Point, the southernmost point on the Australian mainland. A lighthouse on the south-east corner of the peninsula is the southern-most lighthouse on mainland Australia and has operated continuously since 1859. The park is highly popular with bushwalkers and campers, and has a number of lodges and serviced camping areas at a camping area near the mouth of Tidal River.
