The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is a museum in Cleveland dedicated to recording the history of some of the best-known and most influential artists, producers, and other people who have in some major way influenced the music industry, particularly in the area of rock and roll. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation was created in 1983. However, it had no home. The search committee considered several cities. Cleveland lobbied hard to be chosen, stating that one-time Cleveland disc jockey Alan Freed is widely credited with promoting the new genre of rock and roll. |

Lake Erie is the tenth largest lake on Earth and, of the five Great Lakes of North America, it is the fourth largest by surface area, the southernmost, shallowest, and smallest by volume. It is bounded on the north by the Canadian province of Ontario, on the south by the U.S. states of Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York, and on the west by the state of Michigan. The lake is named after the Erie tribe of Native Americans who lived along its southern shore before being exterminated for aiding the Hurons, the enemy of the Iroquois League. |
Cedar Point is an amusement park located in Sandusky, on a narrow peninsula jutting into Lake Erie. The park opened in 1870 and is the second oldest amusement park in North America after Lake Compounce. Cedar Point is the flagship park for Cedar Fair Entertainment Company and, along with Valleyfair, was one of the original parks in the company. The park also has a mile-long white sand beach, two water parks (Soak City and Castaway Bay), two marinas, several hotels, and "Challenge Park" featuring attractions such as go-karts and miniature golf. |
