Divided by various islands into separate waterfalls, 275 cascades spread in a horseshoe shape over nearly two miles of the Iguazu River, spanning four times the width of Niagara Falls.

9 de Julio is an avenue in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Its name honors Argentina's Independence Day. It's the biggest avenue in the world. The avenue runs from the Retiro district in the north to Constitución station in the south, roughly one kilometer to the west of the Río de la Plata waterfront. The avenue consists of twelve lanes, six on each side. Its north end is connected to Illia expressway (which connects downtown with the domestic airport in Palermo) and to Libertador avenue, which serves northwards traffic, and its south end is connected to the 25 de Mayo tollway.
Valdes Peninsula is a peninsula along the Atlantic coast in the Biedma Department in the north east of Chubut Province, Argentina. Its size is about 3,625 km². The nearest large town is Puerto Madryn. Peninsula Valdés, photo taken during shuttle mission STS-68. Most of the peninsula is barren land with some salt lakes. The largest of these lakes is at an elevation of about 40 m below sea level, until recently thought to be the lowest elevation in Argentina and South America. (The lowest point being Laguna del Carbón, Argentina).
