The U.S. Space and Rocket Center is a museum designed to showcase the hardware of the U.S. space program. The idea was first proposed by Dr. Wernher von Braun, while serving as director of the Marshall Space Flight Center. It is located in Huntsville, Alabama. It opened in 1970 after the U.S. Army donated land on its Redstone Arsenal. It houses more than 1,500 pieces of rocket and space hardware. The museum also features temporary rocketry- and space-related exhibits, interactive science exhibits, and space-themed rides.

The International Motorsports Hall of Fame is a Hall of Fame dedicated to enshrining those who have contributed the most to auto racing either as a driver, owner, developer or engineer. Although people of many nationalities have been inducted (including racing legends such as Fangio, Moss, Senna) the main focus is on Americans who competed in domestic series - particularly NASCAR. It was founded in 1982 by William France Sr., the founder of NASCAR, and is currently located in Talladega, Alabama adjacent to Talladega Superspeedway.

Ivy Green is the childhood home of Helen Keller. It is located in Tuscumbia, Alabama. The house was built in 1820 and is a simple white clapboard house. The actual well pump where Helen Keller first communicated with Anne Sullivan is located at Ivy Green. The house was built in 1820, shortly after Alabama obtained statehood as the 22nd state. Ivy Green survived the American Civil War without damage and has been open to the public as a museum since 1954.

Located in Mobile Bay the USS Battleship Alabama Memorial Park includes the Alabama, the 12 Battle Star winner World War II Submarine USS DRUM, an aircraft pavilion dedicated to the 28 Alabama recipients of the Medal of Honor, 24 vintage warplanes from all the flying services since World War II, a Vietnam era PBR River Patrol Boat, and equipment and artifacts from World War II, the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
